Jayco Ordering Process

"I've ordered a caravan, camper or RV from you, what is the process moving forward?"

Definitions: 

Order Stage - refers to the progress of your order, whether that be at the manufacturing phase at the Jayco factory, the transport phase or once it arrives to our service centre for pre-delivery phase.

Current Offline Date: The date that your order is scheduled to leave the factory. This is not when you can expect to pick up your caravan/camper/RV. See below for the steps your Jayco will go through after the offline date

Original Offline Date: The date your order was scheduled to leave the factory at the time of placing the order

Order Number: The unique identifying number that can help staff find your order. Please use this if contacting us where possible.

Order Status: Contract Signed

Congratulations! This the first step to owning your new caravan or motorhome.

Your salesperson has ordered your caravan/camper/RV with its factory-fitted options as outlined in your paperwork. 

Depending on how you respond to your salesperson at the time of sign up, we will communicate with you in 1 of 2 ways: 

 

Option 1: Only Major Updates

We will only communicate when your order has progressed, by going through the stages listed below

 

Option 2: Monthly Updates

We will communicate with you monthly as to any updates with your caravan/camper/RV as well as the major milestones in the order process in option 1. 

If this isn't made clear during the sign up process, we will automatically select option 1. If at any point in time you would like monthly updates give your salesperson a call and they can make the change and you will receive your first monthly update 30 days from that date.

Order Status: "Orange Status"

The ordering process works on a 'traffic light' system. 

Green - changes can be made to your order 

Orange - final opportunity to make changes

Red - no changes can be made.

As we can see, this the final opportunity to make changes to your order.

Please refer to your sales contract and paperwork for your order and ensure that you are happy with the order and its options.


This is also an opportunity for the Jayco factory to begin collating parts for your order, including options you want supplied and fitted to your caravan/camper/RV. Some ordering times for appliances and parts have been significantly extended since COVID-19 and therefore to best safeguard against delays in the factory, product ordering begins at this stage.

Order Status: "Red Status"

As mentioned in the previous stage, the 'red status' is where your order is 'locked-in' and no changes are to be made at this point.

 

At this stage, you will receive an email from your salesperson with an order confirmation document. This document is outlines: 

- the details of the build

- the decor' (colours, fabrics, leather, etc)

- factory fitted options

 

Please refer to your sales contract and compare documents to ensure the order confirmation can be approved. Please note: The order confirmation will be how your caravan/camper/RV is built by the factory. Your sales contract and paperwork is not visible by the factory workers, they only receive the order confirmation. 

If you have any concerns at this stage, please contact your salesperson, otherwise sign and return the order confirmation, your salesperson will send off to the Jayco factory and your order will soon commence production.

Order Status: Production Commenced

Your caravan/camper/RV has begun the manufacturing stage.

Take a look at the video below to see how large the Jayco factory is.

 

 

If you have listed any after-market parts you wanted supplied and fitted to your Jayco, its at this stage that our service team begin to order those parts

Order Status: Dispatched from the factory

Jayco have completed the build of your caravan/camper/RV. Your order is being loaded onto a truck, along with all other orders that were completed today, to a holding yard that is to be sorted so that all orders reach their destination.

Due to the volume of caravans/campers/RV's at the holding yard, your order may sit in the holding yard anywhere from 2-14 days on average.

This might be a good opportunity to look at some of the Jayco How-to Guides on Jayco Australia's YouTube channel to start getting familiar with features from your caravan/camper/RV. Rest assured, your salesperson will go into detail about how to setup and pack up, as well as demonstrate how all of the major appliances work.

Order Status: Van Arrived

The caravan/camper/RV has been loaded onto a truck in Melbourne and delivered to our service centre.

Your salesperson is notified of its arrival so they may inspect your order as another point of quality control, as well as speak with your experienced service technicians about any additional work required before your handover such as the fitting of additional after-market parts.

Once this has been completed, your van is scheduled for the pre-delivery

Order Status: Van scheduled for pre-delivery

Our experienced staff at Watsons Service Centre have estimated how long they will need your Jayco for in order for our pre-delivery and detailing team to complete the job.


Your salesperson will be in touch to organise a date and time for you to pick up your new Jayco.

Order Status: Van in workshop

Your Jayco has progressed to the workshop, here our experienced service technicians will: 

- fit all aftermarketing accessories that you have ordered

- test all appliances and components of your Jayco to ensure that it is safe to drive/tow, as well as

- ensure everything is examined and tested so that it is ready for your next adventure.

Following this, our detailing team will clean the internal and external of your Jayco to showroom condition and ready for your handover date.
